About
Hi! I'm Michelle Peters...
I am a Mom. I am a Wife. I am a pet owner. I love love. I love photography.
I've always had a passion for taking photos. I see opportunity in everything I see. Everything in life deserves to be documented with a photograph. Especially when you're a Mom.
I am self-taught with the ability to admit that I still have much to learn and a long road ahead of me to be where I want to be; but I don't let that hold me back. I strive every single day to learn something new in the world of photography. My poor children end up being my guinea pigs (they're so used to having a camera in their faces that they don't even acknowledge it any longer!).
I'm that crazy person in the family who has the camera out at every function. The one getting the eye rolls and the hand up in the camera lens from those who think I snapped one too many photos of them. That doesn't stop me from sneaking in the candid shot that those individuals always end up thanking me for in the end :)
I decided to bite the bullet, finally made things "official" and started my own photography business. This started shortly after I lost my younger brother (he was two months shy of turning 19 years old) in a car accident. The night we lost him, I realized that there were not enough photos of him. There will never be enough memories and it was, tragically, too late to change that.
Now, I take too many photos of things that most people would turn a blind eye to. First dentist appointments. A new pair of glasses. A first drink from a "big boy cup". The first bike ride of the season on a sunny Spring day. A big sister dressing up a little brother in her hats and scarfs. A pre-teen sitting on her bed reading. A two year old watching his favorite cartoon. Nothing, absolutely nothing, is "too diminutive" to photo document. Now I operate a successful business shooting everything from babies to weddings and everything in between.
That's me. Michelle Peters: camera obsessed; family oriented; not-quite-a-perfect-photographer but willing to give my best; open-minded; passionate. Self taught, mentored by a professional with over 30 years experience (my cousin), encouraged and assisted by a photographer with 14 years experience (my husband) and guided by my own creativity and drive.
Cheers!
